How did I learn to 3D print?
I was first introduced to 3D printing during a high school summer internship for a tech program, where I printed prototypes from STL files exported from SolidWorks, post-processed the parts, and assembled them to test functionality. Later, I purchased my first home 3D printer kit, which provided hands-on experience with tinkering and troubleshooting due to its manual setup process. As 3D printer technology advanced, I upgraded to my current workhorse, the Prusa MK2. With features like auto-bed leveling, filament sensors, and preset print settings, it has enabled me to focus on post-processing and assembling more complex and ambitious projects with greater reliability and precision.
How did I learn to code?
I began coding in my early teens, experimenting with BASIC on an old TI-99, which introduced me to fundamental computer logic. In high school, I built on this foundation by formally learning concepts such as Object-Oriented Programming, Encapsulation, and Boolean Algebra. Over the years, I’ve continued to expand my skills, picking up various programming languages as needed during college and throughout my professional experience.
